Welcome to The Hungry Goat. We are Paul & Jordan Yamas, chefs and owners of this little kitchen. We have 4 kids, a grandson, 2 dogs, and a feral cat, so we know what it’s like to feed a hungry crowd. Combined, we have over 30 years expereince in the food industry cooking at and managing some of the most well-known Jackson staples. In January of 2019, The Hungry Goat was born as a way to combine our love of family and food. We saw a need to help put good, wholesome food on the table for your family – but life is so busy.

Since then, we have had consistent write ups in Jackson Free Press, Clarion Ledger, and many other publications. We have been nominated 3 years in a row for Rankin’s Best of Best (Best Caterer), Clarion Ledger’s Best of 2021 (Best Caterer), and Jackson Free Press’ Best of Jackson (Best Caterer), and Jordan was awarded from PriortyOne Bank “Top 40 Under 40.” Having cooked over 2 million servings of food through our carryout meals and catering, we believe that it is our responsibility to pour back into our communities. In 3 years of business, over $47,000 in monetary and food donations have been made to charities, schools, sports, and non-profits. This is why it is so important to support small business – because it is the backbone of our economy and keeps the wheels turning.

We are so humbled and grateful for our little kitchen. It is a place we hope you find not only good food, but an amazing sense of community. We love what we do, and we love our customers.

One question we get a lot – “what’s the story behind the name?” The offspring of goats are called “kids,” and our kids are always hungry.
